Activity:

Make a list of as many things as possible that depend upon the sun for life or result from the sun's energy.

The poster at left would be a good "bulletin board" activity that would help the child visualize the benefits of the sun.

Religious Analogy: How is the sun like God? Just as God sustains all life, keeping all creation in existence, so the sun keeps all life on earth in existence. Also, as by God's invisible life of grace our spiritual lives are sustained, so by the invisible warmth and the sun's radiation, life on earth is sustained.
